Lumber, a business of Home Depot Supply, acquire Cox Lumber Co., Florida’s largest independently owned Lumber and Building Materials dealer.  The acquisition will be D.B.A HD Supply Lumber & Building Materials  and will significantly increase the size of Williams Bros. based in Duluth, GA, and extended its reach into key growth markets in Florida and the Southeast.HD Supply Lumber & Building Materials is the largest supplier of building materials to professional, residential and commercial builders
In Georgia (Williams Bros.) and in Florida (Cox Lumber).In August, 2007; HD Supply (& HD Supply LBM) owned and operated by The Home Depot was split off and sold to a trio of private equity firms, Bain Capital, The Carlyle Group, and Clayton, Dubilier & Rice.HD Supply operated over 900 locations in the U.S and Canada serving Plumbing, Electrical and Maintenance Supplies, as well as Building Materials for all types of commercial and residential construction. All locations would continue to operate under the HD Supply Corporate name, although now separated from the Home DepotFebruary 2008;
HD Supply agreed to sell its Lumber and Building Materials unit
