To achieve the very best
pressure treated Southern Yellow Pine 2 x 4's and 2 x 6's
for decking, handrails, and other areas where appearance is
a prime consideration, Cox
recommends DuraPine® Classic. Because Southern Yellow Pine
framing lumber is graded for structural strength values and
not appearance, Cox
has gone one step further. Only Dense Select Structural
grade makred lumber is used to manufacture DuraPine®
Classic. This provides a product with a dense grain
structure while maintaining the beauty of the individual
characteristics of wood.
DuraPine®
Classic. decking is planed a second time - on the best
face plus two edges - for optimum appearance, and has saw
kerfs on the back side to relieve pressure and minimize
cupping after installation.
DuraPine®
Classic. is presssure treated in accordance with AWPA
Standards C1 and C2, with CCA-C wood preservative, including
Wolman® Extra® water repellent, to a
retention of .40 lbs/cu. ft. and - dried after treatment to
meet all building code requirements.
The benefits are numerous
for CCA pressure-treated wood that is re-dried after
treatment
