Expanding the Benefits of Engineered Lumber
Trus Joist's TimberStrand® laminated strand lumber (LSL) continues to push the limits of engineered lumber in both its manufacture and its performance. This revolutionary product made from fast-growing aspen or poplar can be fashioned into a broad range of products such as rim board, and window, door and garage door headers.
Applications:

Columns TimberStrand LSL® columns are free of knots, bow, twist and wane to improve the quality of your building. The one-piece member eliminates labor and associated costs for built-up columns while their consistent material eliminates culls and waste. |

Factory-Built Structures The long lengths of TimberStrand® LSL marriage/ridge beams allow for continuous span applications while its solid one-piece members eliminate labor for factory-built beams. Columns which are free of knots, bow, twist and wane and whose widths match 2x3 and 2x4 framing improve the quality of your building. |

Headers and Beams As headers and beams, TimberStrand® LSL offers predictable strength, outstanding weatherability and tremendous dimensional stability that eliminates twist and shrinkage. |

Rim Board For use with the FrameWorks® Building System, TimberStrand® LSL precut rim board is a cost-competitive, higher-quality alternative to plywood rim board (or rim joist). Its support of vertical loads and transfer of wind, seismic and lateral loads make it an idea part of your floor and roof systems. |

Wall Studs and Plates TimberStrand® LSL premium studs and plates are engineered to go in straight and stay that way. Lengths of up to 48 feet create taller walls. |

Microllam®
Laminated Veneer Lumber:Microllam® laminated veneer lumber (LVL) features a consistent moisture content, meaning it resists warping, splitting and shrinking - a leading cause of wall cracks over windows and doors. In addition, the product is manufactured to disperse wood's natural defects, such as knots, thus minimizing their effect on performance and stability. And Microllam® LVL can be made with wood from smaller, younger trees.
Applications:
Concrete Forming
Trus
Joist offers a number of engineered lumber components for concrete
formwork. Used in bridges, retaining walls, commercial slabs,
parking garages and other projects, Trus Joist's shoring; form
board; Form-I joists; and form beams offer engineered
quality in every piece with consistent quality and uniformity for
predictable performance. Plus, their longer spans and greater
on-center spacings save time and money.
Scaffold Planks
Scaffold
plank companies need planks they can rely on - planks that have
minimal warp, twist and bow from exposure. Microllam® LVL
scaffold planks are proof-loaded by machine ensuring they meet TJ
quality standards and OSHA deflection limits before they leave the
mill. Because Microllam® LVL is made from many layers of thin
veneer, there are no concentrated areas of knots or cross grain to
contend with. And Microllam® LVL isn't sold as stock lumber -
it's manufactured to your specifications.

Expanding the Benefits of Engineered Lumber

This revolutionary product made from fast-growing aspen or poplar can be fashioned into a broad range of products such as rim board, and window, door and garage door headers
Applications:
Furniture and Millwork
TimberStrand®
LSL can be precisely cut and shaped at the manufacturing facility
for a wide range of millwork applications, including core material
for windows and doors, furniture frames and specialty millwork.
TimberStrand® LSL's resistance to the withdrawal of screws,
nails and dowels meets or exceeds many types of sawn hardwood
lumber
Truss Chords
TimberStrand®
LSL truss chords are ideal for a variety of high stress truss
members such as bottom chords in girder trusses and top chords in
tail-bearing trusses. TimberStrand® LSL's predictable strength
and tremendous dimensional stability resists warping and
splitting, while the truss chords standard depths match all depths
of adjoining floor systems and standard lengths reduce the need
for chord splicing.
