• Discuss unusual truss configurations with a fabricator.• Provide the truss fabricator with a complete set of plans or the following information:
• The length of the bottom chord (nominal span).
• The horizontal distance from the end of the bottom chord to the bottom edge of the top chord.
• Number of trusses required. (Trusses are most often spaced at 400 or 600mm (16" or 24") centers).
• Top and bottom chord live and dead loads.
• Type of cut for the end of the top chord.
• Type of gable end if applicable.
• Roof Slope.
• Soffit framing detail.
• Type of truss required.
• Special requirements such as cantilevers and girders.
• Request and review shop drawings.
